Sunday 20th September was the Grand finale of the Redeemed Christian Bible College Weekend.
The theme is THE GLORIOUS WORKMAN.
Below is the summary of the message.
1. WHO IS A GLORIOUS WORKMAN? 1 Tim. 3: 1-13
A glorious workman in Christian parlance is the fellow who among others is:
i. Born again – John 3: 3,5
ii. Sanctified – 1 Thess. 4: 3-4
iii. Holy Spirit filled – Acts 1:8
iv. A learner/scholar – 2 Tim. 2: 15
v. A doer of the word of God – James 1: 22-25
vi. A preacher of the word of God – 2 Tim. 2: 1-3
vii. A teacher of the word of God – 1 Tim. 3:2
viii. A good example, someone who lives above reproach.
ix. Someone who lives above the vanities of this life. Phil. 3: 7-8
x. A heaven- bound follower of Jesus Christ. 1 cor. 11:1
2. IN WHAT AREAS CAN ONE BECOME A GLORIOUS WORKMAN FOR GOD?
1 Cor. 12:4-11
i. As keeper of God’s house.
ii. As a singer.
iii. As a soul- winner
iv. As a prayer warrior
v. As pastor
vi. As a teacher
vii. As a counselor
viii. As an artisan/technician/ professional. Read Exo. 31:2, 35: 30-31, 36: 1,2, 38: 22 with understanding.
ix. As a giver to God’s project.
3. THE REWARD OF THE GLORIOUS WORKMAN. Mark 10: 28-30.
To be a glorious workman could be tasking but the reward is equally enticing. The following are some of the rewards of the glorious workman:
i. He becomes a friend of the Master. –John 15:15
ii. His prayers are positively answered – John15: 16
iii. He is protected from Satanic attacks – Psalm 105: 14-15
iv. He is blessed with blessings that money cannot buy – Psalm 103: 1-5
v. He receives “well-done” here and after – Matt. 25: 21, Mark 10: 30, 2 Tim. 4: 7-8.
CONCLUSION
In the light of the foregoing, let us pray that the Almighty God will make us glorious workmen in His vineyard. We shall not miss the reward in Jesus name.
